Keith Whittingham's Home page on ~JSPWiki----

First thanks to the guys working on JSPWiki. It is really a first class architecture and I think the potential it has is enormous.

We are working on a couple of projects using Wiki:

  • Swiki: basically JSPWiki as it is packaged with a Corporate Image skin care of the templates capability plus some help pages, operational support (backup etc.). Its sort of positioned as a Notes team room killer on the premise that the team room difficult to access, a pain in the *** to use
  • Personal Swiki: same as above but packaged with a Tomcat engine using NSIS (excellent software installer from Nullsoft the Winamp guys) and a few Wiki beginner pages. PS installs on your machine on a so that only you can access it. Its a thought organiser, sophisticated notepad, what ever. I've got a bet (6-pack of beer) with another guy in my team that we'll get 1,000 downloads in 6 months on our intranet - steep but doable...
Did you see the StandaloneWiki page? You might get some ideas there how to build the Personal Swiki

  • A workflow plugin. We have a tool which my team has built called EBPM based on the Metro engine. We've pluginized (to coin a word) the client part so that you can click on a menu item on the home page of Swiki and bam - you're looking at a workflow application. I'm not sure what it is yet - is it a Wiki, is it a workflow application! It blew my bosses mind when we demoed it - he stopped talking and then said "I don't know whether to laugh or cry". To paint a GIF: you have a screen, logo at the top, menu under that (menu template plugin - thanks), a worklist down the left side containing your workitems and the active workitem displayed as a form in the body of the page. Don't like the layout of the form? Hit the edit button and change it, preview it and save it and from now on every time you work on the same activity you'll see that view. Outstanding work by SvenHartmetz who had the whole thing running in 14 days!
  • We are just looking at building another workflow tool which will support ad hoc workflow. It will be built as an open source effort so outside of company time.

If you're interested in more information or perhaps contributing on the workflow project then leave me some contact details below, I check this page from time-to-time.
