When attachment are attached to a page the are currently displayed in a random order.

Provide a method, by means of configuration file or otherwise, by which the display order of attachments can be controller. Obvious order methods would be by

i) Alphabetically by attachment name ii) The created (attached) date of the attached file. iii) The size of the attachment

also a ascending / descending option?

Did you check the ReferredPagesPlugin, which allows to display attachments, including sort orders and regular-expressions to filter the list ? --DF
